Tagging (e.g., graffiti) has crept from (American) cities and unfortunately accelerated blighting National Parks and/or other public recreation areas due to people using Social Networking to showpiece their work… which, of course, resulted in copy-cats also seeking some sort or warped (putting it mildly) notoriety… utterly tragic…

A UK organization is working to bridge the ‘Digital Divide’ amongst those citizens (40% of the total are supposedly over the age 75) who have never been online. This project is both commendable and potentially a resource of talent / market opportunity yet to be fully explored (especially given the overall graying of the OECD nations currently).

Smart Bracelets.

While it’s a sad state-of-affairs that Aid Workers are regularly harassed (unfortunately) /  kidnapped and sometimes (tragically) murdered, offering them access to tracking technology that sends out distress signals (using mobile technology) in order to try to more fully protect these individuals is an exceptional example of modern technology (hopefully put to good use).
