School’s Out.

A group of Middle School students not only used a phishing technique to gain administrator privileges to their school’s computers but actually complained when they no longer worked correctly (as a result of their escapades!) Classic.

Celebrating Life!

The “greatness” of truly great people lies in their appreciation of the “ordinary.” – Daisaku Ikeda.

Duh!

Wow; the utter brilliance obviousness of this statement: “AT&T / Verizon duopoly would be a bad thing.”

Arguably, it already largely is… (which is a BAD thing for innovation; prices, etc. as America continues to fall further behind in another field that the nation pioneered; all in the name of profit!)

Rural Broadband.

The next time some pundit espouses how nothing that Washington, D.C. (i.e., the Federal Government) does works, you can ask said ‘expert’ if they’ve every heard of VTel? If not, you can simply state that they offer fiber, 1GB ‘net access for $35.00 per month. Granted, the caveat is that it’s offered in Vermont; nevertheless, it does underline the point that the large Telcos are a hindrance to wider broadband adoption rates across America (versus being an active catalyst for this technology becoming ubiquitous!)

A Record Hack?

50 million users can’t be wrong! Wait a moment – strike that – 50 million users are in all probability not happy (as LifeSocial was hacked). That aside, again, this raises the (simple yet complex) question: there’s got to be a better way e.g., logging in sans a password.

2 = 1? Or, 1 = 2?

Although Google was relatively unscathed by the DOJ, EU regulators will essentially require the firm to provide less-biased / more neutral search results (which is not necessarily a bad thing for consumers and/or their competition).
