Kudos to the world-renowned pianist who walked off stage in protest to his recital being filmed via a Smartphone (as an expression of their own self of artistry).

Webvan 2.0?

Amazon’s push to expand their on-line grocery presence (via Amazon Fresh) looks to be expanding beyond Seattle (both domestically and internationally) by 2014. Let’s hope that the firm’s disruptive abilities shake the likes of Walmart up (amongst other big-box chains) especially regarding the availability of fresher (non-processed) foods!

Not (Right) Now…

Google’s ban on pornographic content raises (no pun intended!) several interesting issues: a) how ultimately has the final say regarding the content that any given end-user views (on their respective devices?); b) censorship issues regarding what’s deemed appropriate for adults to view?; c) the age-old reality of ‘sex-selling’ in and as far as that a major differentiator between Apple’s iOS and Google’s Android OS has been the former’s zero-tolerance policies whereas the latter has been much more lenient (especially regarding jail-broken apps); and; d) what firm (if any) will challenge Google’s (current) Glass monopoly thereby allowing said medium to be readily accessible therein?

These are only a few issues / variables that are going to have to be addressed regarding the entire (nascent) wearable technology space…

Secure This!

LinkedIn’s security updates are the latest attempt to create an additional layer of security protection for end-users (in light of the on-going vulnerability Social Networking sites face)… Will they work and/or are they just another stop-gap measure (harkening the wider-adoption of bio-metric log-in access?)

We’re Back?

Hopefully, Google’s announcement regarding producing Motorola’s Moto X (in Texas) is actually more than PR-spin but a genuine sign that high-end, electronic manufacturing is returning to America (after a very long absence!)
