Internet-free: A Barrier No More.

As emerging markets continue to be the area of focus regarding increased technology availability, Twitter is the latest Social Networking company to enter this high-growth segment (i.e., providing their service for end-users who do not have dedicated / regular ‘net access).

weEverything

iEverything.

While a viable technology, NFC has yet to gain widespread acceptance (due to privacy issues / lack of manufacturer focus and commercial acceptance, etc. amongst other factors) Apple’s iBeacon and iWallet look to be the firm’s attempt at both usurping NFC as well as pushing their proprietary virtual payment standard. Lost in all of this is how Cupertino (akin to Redmond) is going the exact same route: end-to-end control of any given end-user’s experience (and, nobody seems to be raising as much fuss about it as the DOJ did in the mid-1990’s – at least at this juncture…)

Just Say No?

Is this Redmond’s official stance now? If true, Microsoft is the first (reported) American Tech firm to attempt to block (authorized / unauthorized?) NSA-snooping based on their technology.

Over 5 Billion Served (Collected!)

1984 is clearly upon us… Big Brother is not only watching (and collecting data on) America but the world-at-large…

Again, arguably, Edward Snowden’s name / reputation, etc. were smeared by the Mass Media not just because of his personal affairs but for how damning the NSA revelations (known / reported at this juncture) actually are!

Math: Can’t Leave Home Without It!

Leaving the hype aside, taking a closer look at Amazon’s Drone Delivery idea is a worthwhile endeavor.

What Can ‘Drone’ Do For You?

Jeff Bezos’ desire / gimmick / vision, etc. to have (Amazon) delivery-drones is seemingly a cross between The Jetsons and Commerce Gone Wild (amongst other ways to describe it…)

Monopolistic Licensing.

According to the enclosed report, even when any given consumer doesn’t purchase an iPhone, Apple’s secret deals with mobile carriers are akin to a tax that users of said carriers’ network wind up paying!

Appreciation.

I am grateful for what I am and have. My thanksgiving is perpetual. It is surprising how contented one can be with nothing definite – only a sense of existence. Well, anything for variety. I am ready to try this for the next ten thousand years, and exhaust it. How sweet to think of! my extremities well charred, and my intellectual part too, so that there is no danger of worm or rot for a long while. My breath is sweet to me. O how I laugh when I think of my vague indefinite riches. No run on my bank can drain it, for my wealth is not possession but enjoyment. – Henry David Thoreau.
