The UK has launched a public consultation on the ethics of technology that enhances brain function (and the application of said medium on humans).
The positive-side of this initiative is (hopefully) generating greater public interest within this field (and further adopting it towards medicinal applications) . Conversely, the downside of this campaign is that the General Public is often reticent toward adopting change (particularly when it comes to the area of medical ethics and how emotions and rational are generally not compatible around ‘hot-button’ issues).
